Darius Slay reported on time for work with the Detroit Lions, but he certainly isn’t too happy about his contract situation. He didn’t practice either after he was placed on the team’s non-football injury list.

He did, however, speak to reporters for about six minutes, and the two-time Pro Bowler was salty about his contract, even saying “next question” several times with respect to the subject.

The former Mississippi State DB is scheduled to make $12.55 million this season, but he’s made it known that he feels he deserves a new deal.

One reporter asked Slay if he was underpaid. His response, “Yeah, OK then. Everybody in the world knows.”

Slay skipped the team’s off-season workouts while desiring a better contract, but it hasn’t happened yet.

“It won’t impact nothing,” Slay said of a new reworked deal from the Lions. “I’m going out there to dominate, so I come out, I play for the name on the back of my jersey and this organization and my teammates. So ain’t going to never stop me from what I’m going to do on the field.”
