Mississippi State will wear special throwback uniforms for Saturday’s game against Bowling Green.

The uniforms the Bulldogs will be wearing is part of a tribute to two of the program’s first African-American players Frank Dowsing Jr., and Robert Bell.

The gloves and the jersey patches mark the 50th anniversary since Dowsing and Bell entered the Bulldpgs program. The helmet style is also from the early 1970s.

Both Dowsing and Bell will be honored in a monumental ceremony.

Mississippi State will play return to conference play next weekend when the Bulldogw host Texas A&M as part of six consecutive SEC confeence games.
