Mississippi State uses 3-run blast to land 3rd walk-off victory of season
Mississippi State is getting used to these dramatic finishes in baseball.
The Bulldogs did it again on Saturday with a 3-run walk-off home run from Logan Tanner as they knocked off Eastern Michigan, 4-1.
“We knew it was do or die, and we didn’t want to die. So we had to do,” Tanner told reporters after the game. “I told Luke (Hancock) before that inning, ‘Let’s end it.'” As soon as (Tanner Allen) got a hit, I knew we were going to win it.”
Tanner delivered the blow after he started the day 0-for-3 as EMU starter Justin Meis’ produced an eight-inning gem. The ball landed in the second deck beyond left-center field to give No. 3 MSU another victory as it improved to 12-3, this time in front of a spirited crowd at Dudy Noble Field.
