Nasty brawl erupts between Mississippi State-Tulsa at end of Armed Forces Bowl
A full-on brawl broke out at the end of the Armed Forces Bowl including several players on both teams throwing punches and even kicking opponents.
Mississippi State and Tulsa players met on the field for the post-game handshakes after the Bulldogs won 28-26 in the game played in Fort Worth, Texas. Then the brawl broke out.
ESPN broadcasters raised the issue of criminal charges being filed as the incident spilled off the field and across the sidelines. Dozens of players from both sides appeared very interested in joining the fray, which appeared to begin as the players were walking off the field near the end zone on the Tulsa sideline.
It was a spirited game throughout as Mississippi Stat had 11 penalties and Tulsa had seven in the game.

Stay classy, Starkville
UGLY
Listen to the cow bells most excitement since hiring Leach!
Difference between a coach and a car salesman…
Coach Leach, what do you have to say about the brawl at the end of the game?
Well it IS football, people are going to get hit. I guess I’ll tell my team to stay disciplined, don’t do it again…
Coach Mullet, your thought about the Mizzou halftime skcrum?Well, I charged into the fight and you know, well I was clearly enraged, didn’t like the cameras zoomed in on my actions, hated to be restrained by members of my coaching staff. Pressed on the idea that he escalated the situation, Mullen added: “Ya know, like I was trying to get our players off the field to make sure we didn’t have issues and have a whole bunch of guys suspended…went out there trying to get our guys off the field because it was getting testy, and ya know, it kept growing and growing. We’re trying to push guys back and unfortunately you’re trying to get in the middle, get the officials in the middle, trying to get them to get in the middle, get us in the middle, get their people off, our team off. But everyone’s running to the locker and it kind of keeps spilling down that way…I didn’t see it but I’m sure it wasn’t my fault…
This is excellent.
That was actually pretty witty.
More proof CDM is all in at UF. We wont back down. We love being the target. Hopefully, maybe in another lifetime the puppies will win enough championships to have that target on their backs. But it isn’t happening in Bangs time in Athens.
Yeah yeah, we know all that! But what did you think about my used car salesman story G8rMarsh? Creative yes?
Lol…a very happy new year’s wish to you and yours mi compadre. Looking forward to another year of razzing and ribbing. I figured I better get all my best shots in while y’all are down and we haven’t played yet. Stay well my friend.
After last night, they are down. Hard.
I’m only hoping tomorrow night we won’t be so down. All this opt out quitting sux…I expect our offense to show up.
Unlike Dandy Dan’s troops during their epic fail I have zero doubt Kirby will let our guys will quit early, count on that! Fight to the final horn, Go pups!
That’s just horrible.
Good fight boys!!!!
Started by a Tulsa coach. Guess they wanted to lose twice.
Why was Tulsa begging for a fight all day? They came out angry and tried to bully State before, during, and after the game. I don’t know if they were just used to others backing down all season or what.
heartbreaking loss to Cincinnati. They went from being in a potentially major bowl to playing a 3-7 team from a conference that is notoriously…ummm, confident.
And this is why we are the laughing stock of the conference. Hahahaha
Shut up and kiss me
You’re such an ole Miss fan no one would try to make our school look this pathetic hahaha
Love it. Love a good sports fight,* and this one was hilarious.
*as long as things cool off before any real injuries happen
SEC! SEC! SEC!
So this fight your good with? It’s just when you get your a$$ beat you whine.
Several bad looks in that fight. The Tulsa coach who appeared to have started it. #4 for MSU who kicked a man who was on the ground before running away. Just all around ugly.
If I were his size, I would have just stuck to the running away part.
The way Malik Heath fights, I’m surprised he didn’t commit to us.
There’s still hope, after all Mullet is the TP king
Reminds me of some classy places I went too long ago that we’re known for brawls. They would search you for weapons and if none found they would give you one.
Good ol Snuffy’s tavern…sign at the front door, we believe in the second amendment, anyone caught bringing a knife to our gunfights will be asked to leave!
Anything thats called a tavern or beer joint has a bit of Groggery to it
Obviously, according to the video, Heath is a English major.
Stay in your lane
Stay in your mom
I’ll stay in you
This thread has nothing on the game fight
Says the ole Miss fan makes sense for them hahahaha
Not a good look for either team.
I hear that there’s a conference call early next week to potentially rename this the “Our Fighting Forces Bowl”. Stay tuned…
Tulsa set the tone early…pre-game pushing & trash-talking. And at the end of the game a Tulsa coach started the brawl…Amazingly bad.
It was ugly, but at least they cared…
There were probably some “Mama” jokes involved here…
