WATCH: Mississippi State cornerbacks should be 'WIRED' this season
It is often said that players reflect their coaches’ attributes, good or bad. If that is true, Mississippi State’s cornerbacks should be locking down receivers this fall.
The Bulldogs hired former Jim Thorpe Award winner and Super Bowl champion Terrell Buckley to coach their corners in 2016. Buckley is a 14-year NFL veteran and “one of the most dynamic players in Mississippi history,” as State’s team site puts it. He played college football at Florida State.
Buckley is now going into his second season as not only the cornerbacks coach, but also the recruiting coordinator. He helped the Bulldogs land a Top 25 class this year.
He also stays WIRED in practice:

Before coming home to Mississippi with defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, Buckley coached corners at Louisville.
Having a coach with a history of success like Buckley should help some of Mississippi State’s defensive backs take the next step this fall.
