Gabarri Johnson is headed west.

The former Missouri quarterback announced on Monday that he has committed to Oregon State. Johnson spent just 1 season with the Tigers before deciding to enter the transfer portal.

Here’s his commitment announcement:

Johnson did not play for the Tigers this season but was highly-rated as a prospect. A 4-star recruit, Johnson was the No. 353 overall player and the No. 25 quarterback in the country for the 2023 class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Johnson is originally from Tacoma, Washington, so this move to Oregon State means he’ll now be playing much closer to home. Johnson did not record any statistics for the Tigers this season.

With Missouri starter Brady Cook expected to return in 2024, there wasn’t going to be a clear path to playing time for Johnson next season. He now joins an Oregon State roster that lost its top two quarterbacks to transfer this offseason in DJ Uiagalelei and Aidan Chiles. Former Idaho quarterback Gevani McCoy is also transferring to Oregon State this offseason.

Mizzou has already re-loaded at the quarterback position. The Tigers signed 3-star quarterback Aidan Glover in the class of 2024.
