Between injuries, suspensions and players sitting out to prepare for the 2018 NFL Draft, the Texas Longhorns may not be able to field a team for the Texas Bowl next week.

That’s good news for the Missouri Tigers, who will take on their former Big 12 foes on Wednesday night in Houston.

After announcing the suspensions of three offensive players on Friday morning, it was then revealed that a key defender, DT Chris Nelson, suffered an elbow injury during practice and will miss the bowl game:

Nelson, a junior, has played in 10 games this year, recording 18 tackles (three for a loss) and one sack.

Meanwhile, the Tigers enter the game relatively healthy, so it could turn into a bloodbath if Texas can’t develop some of its younger players in a hurry.

The Texas Bowl kicks off at 9 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday night and can be seen on ESPN.
