The Missouri Tigers suffered a disappointing 42-13 loss in the SEC Championship last night, failing to give Alabama much of a challenge.

As a result, the Tigers’ subsequent drop in the Associated Press Top 25 poll wasn’t too far down, falling just two spots to No. 16.

Missouri was on the cusp of a top-10 ranking last week heading into the SEC Championship, but it wasn’t meant to be for the perpetual underdog as the No. 13 ranking was the ceiling for the Tigers during the season.

The SEC closes out the regular season AP Top 25 poll with eight teams and three schools in the top-10 — Alabama (No. 1), Mississippi State (No. 8) and Ole Miss (No. 9).
