Mizzou finally got an SEC win. After going 0-24 in their first 8 SEC series of the season, the Tigers took the opener at Texas A&M on Friday night.
MU trailed 6-3 heading into the 9th inning in College Station, but Mizzou put 6 runs on the board in the 9th inning to take a 9-6 lead. A stunned Texas A&M team did not manage a rally in its final at-bat, going down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th.

For Texas A&M, it’s a rough loss as the Aggies hope to make the NCAA Tournament. With the loss, A&M falls to 27-21 overall and 10-15 in SEC play.
The Aggies started the 2025 season as preseason No. 1 in multiple polls, but stumbled out of the gate. A&M turned things around, picking up some key SEC series wins over the last few weeks, but still needs to win the majority of its 5 remaining conference games against Mizzou and Georgia for NCAA Tournament purposes.
For the first time in 2025, Mizzou will go for an SEC series win. Game 2 is set for 3 p.m. ET.
