The impacts of winter storm Fern have been felt throughout the sports world over the weekend, and it looks like that will continue to be the case throughout the early days of this upcoming week.
Various teams are rescheduling their games for Monday and Tuesday, and Alabama‘s men’s basketball program opted to change the start time for its contest with Missouri.
Welcoming the Tigers on Tuesday night, the Crimson Tide announced that the game has been moved up to a 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET) tip-off after it was originally slated for an hour later.
The change in time allows the Tigers more flexibility for travel and better accommodates those in attendance considering the projected drops in temperature late at night.
Nate Oats’ program will be in desperate need of a bounce-back victory when it hosts Mizzou. With the headlines swirling around the return of Charles Bediako on Saturday night, Alabama was unable to handle the noise as it fell to a reeling Tennessee squad, 79-73. The result dropped the Crimson Tide to 13-6 and .500 in league play, a far cry from when they thumped Kentucky and were 11-3 to begin SEC action.
Meanwhile, Missouri virtually saved its season with a pair of buzzer-beaters to take down Oklahoma on Saturday, and the Tigers will now be looking to make a statement on the road. Dennis Gates’ program notably beat Alabama in the schools’ lone meeting last season, a 110-98 upset win in Columbia.
Also notable within the SEC, Tennessee’s road matchup with Georgia was moved to a Wednesday night top-off at 7 p.m. ET after it was originally slated for Tuesday.
