Desmond Howard is a Michigan Man through and through.
So, it should come as no surprise that he has Juwan Howard’s back after an ugly incident following Michigan’s loss at Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon in which Juwan took a swing at a Wisconsin assistant.
While Juwan has been roundly criticized and likely faces a lengthy suspension from the Big Ten, Desmond took to Twitter to say “now wait a minute,” placing the blame fully on Wisconsin:
I saw Juwan walking away and Wisconsin coach put his hands on him to stop. First mistake. Then an ass't coach inserted himself and said something that only escalated things. Let bosses be bosses and play your position. Second mistake.

How either of those things excuses Howard throwing an open-hand punch at another coach is unclear, and Desmond’s take won’t likely be considered much by Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren.
We’ll see what punishment is handed down early next week, but Juwan Howard was, by almost every regard, the one who escalated the situation on Sunday.
