Tuesday’s pair of games in the SEC was pretty straightforward. Vanderbilt led Auburn by 11 points at the halftime break and never trailed in the second half, sending the Tigers to a third straight loss. Then Arkansas jumped out to a huge, early lead and rolled LSU for its eighth win in 11 conference games.

Wednesday features 4 games. Will we get more competitive action?

Let’s take a look at some DFS angles to attack from the 4-game slate.

Florida C Rueben Chinyelu higher than 0.5 double-doubles at Georgia

Well, let’s start here. Florida big man Rueben Chinyelu has scored in double-figures in 9 straight games. He has double-doubles in 7 of those 9 games. Chinyelu has been an absolute monster on the boards, averaging 14 rebounds and 5 offensive boards per game in his last 8. Chinyelu had just 10 and 4 in the first meeting with Georgia, but he only played 20 minutes that day because the Gators blew the Bulldogs out of the Gainesville water.

Going to Athens, where Georgia has only lost 3 times all year, with 2 of those defeats coming in overtime, might serve up a more competitive game. Georgia holds teams under 48% shooting on 2s, a top-50 mark nationally, and blocks shots at a top-5 rate. The Bulldogs give up most of their points on 2s, though, as they’re a really poor rebounding team on the defensive glass. Florida had 20 offensive rebounds in the first meeting. Thomas Haugh had 12 total boards. Micah Handlogten had 11 off the bench. I trust Chinyelu, considering what we’ve seen from him over the course of the year.

Alabama F Aiden Sherrell higher than 9.5 points at Ole Miss

Wednesday’s game will be the first Alabama has played without center Charles Bediako since Jan. 17. A district court judge ruled against Bediako earlier in the week, prematurely ending a highly-publicized return to the Crimson Tide. Coach Nate Oats added Bediako for obvious reasons — a boost to his frontcourt chief among them — and now has to make do with what he had previously. That should mean more Aiden Sherrell.

In the 5 games Sherrell played with Bediako backing him up, he played less than 24 minutes 4 times, grabbed 5 or fewer rebounds 4 times, and scored less than 9 points 3 times. In the last game Sherrell played without Bediako, he saw 31 minutes, grabbed 9 boards, and scored 21 points. That outing was his second consecutive 20-point performance for the Tide. He also scored 21 on Dec. 21 before the holiday break.

The 6-foot-10 Taylor Bol Bowen has been battling a knee issue for the last few weeks and, though he’ll be available for the game, it’s unlikely he provides much to move the needle in the scoring department. He has 2 games with double-digit points since the end of November. Everything points to Sherrell against an Ole Miss team that has lost 5 straight, fouls a ton, and puts people on the free throw line.

Mississippi State G Josh Hubbard lower than 19.5 points

This one is more about recent form and less about history. Josh Hubbard loves playing Tennessee. He scored 25 points on 5-of-10 shooting from 3 in his first career game against the Vols back in January 2024. He entered that game with 5 combined makes in his previous 17 attempts from 3. Then he scored 18 points on 3-of-8 shooting from 3 in a tournament game agains the Vols later that season. In January 2025, Hubbard hit 4 of 12 treys against Tennessee after going 7-for-30 in his previous 4 outings. Tennessee gives up a ton of 3s this year. Opponents get nearly 46% of their looks from beyond the arc, and we know Hubbard isn’t shy about letting it fly.

But Tennessee is also holding teams under 30% on those 3-point shots. And Hubbard is shooting the worst percentage of his career from beyond the arc. He is averaging a career-best 20.6 points per game but shooting a career-low 31.7% from deep. He has topped 19 points only once in his last 6 outings, thanks to a haywire shot (32.2% from the floor, 23.3% from 3). Hubbard might have to take 25 shots to get 20 points, and that’s a tough ask against a slow Tennessee team.
