Many in the college basketball world have been waiting for Arkansas freshman guard Nick Smith Jr. to take the floor for the Razorbacks. Smith Jr. was a top five recruit in the nation for the Class of 2022 and the 6-foot-5, 185-pound guard from North Little Rock, is currently ranked No. 4 in ESPN’s 2023 NBA Mock Draft.
Unfortunately Smith Jr. missed the Razorbacks opener, a 76-58 win over North Dakota State, due to load management for his right knee.
Now head coach Eric Musselman has announced that Smith Jr. won’t practice for the next couple of days and is unlikely to play Friday night against Fordham.
Musselman said today that the status of Nick Smith Jr. is the same, he won’t practice today or tomorrow and he doesn’t anticipate him playing against Fordham on Friday night.

It’s a little concerning to hear that Smith is having knee issues, but it’s good that Musselman isn’t going to try to rush the kid back too soon.
Hopefully it’s just a small blip on the radar and we’ll see Smith on the floor in the near future.
