Kentucky to reportedly target Butler guard in transfer portal
The Kentucky Wildcats want to find players who can create their own shot for the 2026-27 campaign. Knowing this, it’s no surprise that they’re in the hunt for a Big East transfer who led his team in scoring last season.
According to Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio, the Wildcats are targeting former Butler guard Finley Bizjack in the transfer portal. The rising senior posted 17.1 points per game and earned All-Big East Third Team honors for the Bulldogs in 2026-26.

Bizjack was the No. 14 combo guard in 247Sports’ Composite rankings of the 2023 recruiting class. He gradually earned bigger roles for head coach Thad Matta over his 3 years with Butler, raising his minutes and scoring averages significantly year-over-year:
- 2023-24: 14.9 MPG, 4.2 PPG
- 2024-25: 27.6 MPG, 10.3 PPG
- 2025-26: 34.0 MPG, 17.1 PPG
Bizjack, unlike many players these days, has shown some school loyalty. Had Matta not retired 2 weeks ago, it’s possible he’d have remained a Bulldog for his entire collegiate career. He will be a leader both on and off the floor for Kentucky if Mark Pope can bring him to Lexington.
Kentucky is expected to see many players hit the transfer portal. Jaland Lowe, one of their prized finds from last year’s cycle, has already done so. Getting out ahead of a potential mass exodus by landing a player of Bizjack’s caliber would give Pope some leeway with a fanbase that has its doubts about his ability to win a national championship.
