March Madness projected payouts are out now that the Final Four is set, and the SEC thanks to 8 bids leads the country in money brought in from the NCAA Tournament.
While the SEC fell short of the Final Four, the league will eventually take home roughly $34 million from its March Madness success, more than any other conference, according to Sportico. The Big Ten is projected to bring in $32 million, while the Big East is next at $30 million, the Big Ten at $28 million, the ACC $24 million and the Mountain West at $16 million among the top 5 conferences.
Each game played will be worth roughly $2 million, according to Sportico’s calculations, paid out in annual installments through 2029.
It’s been at least 2 decades since the SEC led all conferences in tournament earnings. It’s also just the second time in the past 20 years that the highest-earning conference failed to advance a single team out of the Sweet Sixteen—Arkansas, Tennessee and Alabama all lost one win short of the Elite Eight, Sportico reported.
Now that the Final Four is set, we know roughly how much each conference will make from this #MarchMadness .
