Oklahoma had a solid year under coach Porter Moser, as the Sooners made it to the NCAA Tournament before losing to 2-time defending national champion UConn in the first round.
A big reason why the Sooners were so good this year was because of a strong backcourt led by freshman sensation Jeremiah Fears. However, he has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft, where he figures to be a top 10-15 pick.
With him leaving, that leaves a big void on the roster, but Oklahoma has been very aggressive in the transfer portal. On Monday, the Sooners made big news when Miami guard Nijel Pack announced on Instagram.
Pack has been a big time player during his college career, one that started at Kansas State. In just 2 seasons at K-State, he scored over 800 points, while shooting over 40% from the 3-point line. After his sophomore year, he transferred to Miami.
In his first 2 seasons in the ACC, he averaged 13.5 PPG. During the 2022-23 season, he helped lead the Hurricanes to the Final Four and was named the MOP in the Midwest Region.
Last year, he got off to a great start, scoring 22 points early against Arkansas. However, he played in only 9 games last season because of an injury.
Pack isn’t the only player the Sooners signed on Monday, as the Sooners also signed Notre Dame transfer Tae Davis. He averaged 15.3 PPG last season for the Fighting Irish, giving Oklahoma some needed scoring firepower coming to Norman.
