Tennessee will be without one of its reserve guards as it faces Ole Miss on Tuesday night.

According to the Volunteers’ X account, Amaree Abram is “day-to-day” with flu symptoms. The Vols will “continue to … evaluate” Abram while he is out.

Tuesday’s news means that Abram won’t play against the program he began his college career with in 2022. He was a four-star recruit when he signed with Ole Miss out of high school and averaged 8.0 points as a freshman. He then transferred to Georgia Tech before landing at Louisiana Tech, where he averaged 12.3 points while starting 32 games and averaging 32.1 minutes a contest.

Since joining the Vols, Abram’s role hasn’t been as active. He’s started three games and appeared in 21, averaging 12.0 minutes and 3.8 points per outing. He had a season-high 15 points against Tennessee State on Nov. 20 and matched that total against Gardner-Webb just over a month later. Against Auburn on Saturday, Abram played just two minutes.

Tennessee, at 15-6 and 5-3 in the SEC, now turns its attention to Ole Miss as it seeks its fourth win in a row while looking to move within a game and a half of Texas A&M atop the standings. Meanwhile, the Rebels, who enter the night at 11-10 and 3-5 in league play, have lost three straight games.
