Texas A&M swingman Ruben Dominguez has apparently decided 1 season in College Station was enough.

The Aggies’ talented shooting import from the top pro league in Spain has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to a report on Tuesday afternoon by TexAgs. Dominguez was a key piece for head coach Bucky McMillan this past season, averaging 10.2 points per game and shooting an impressive 40% from 3-point territory.

Dominguez had an equally impressive 87.1% clip from the free throw line and also averaged 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest. In his 1 and apparently only season at Texas A&M, the native of Puerto Real, Spain, helped the Aggies advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The European sharpshooter made his time in College Station count, breaking the program’s single-game record for most 3-pointers made in a game with 10.

The 22-year-old Dominguez is a little older than the typical college player, coming to the United States after playing for Bilbao Basket in the Liga Endesa, which is the top professional basketball league in Spain.

Not only did Dominguez prove his worth as a dynamic shooter for the Aggies, he was incredibly durable last season, playing in all 34 of Texas A&M’s games.

His reported departure from College Station will leave a giant hole in McMillan’s rotation for next season, with Dominguez reportedly bolting from Texas A&M on the first official day of the transfer portal window.
