College basketball fans got to experience one of the greatest ending in the history of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night when UConn knocked off Duke on an incredible final shot by Braylon Mullins.
The shot sent fans in the arena into an absolute frenzy. Ian Eagle, Grant Hill and Bill Raftery were on the call for CBS, and even the announcers had a reaction for the ages.
Raftery delivered his staple and famous ‘Onions’ call, while the Duke alum Hill sat there in just disbelief.
The Huskies were down by 15 points at the half, and were struggling on offense for much of the evening. They missed their first 17 3-point attempts, but finished by making four of their last five attempts.
UConn was trailing 72-69 with 10 seconds left when guard Silas Demary Jr. went to the free throw line for two shots. He missed the first, but made the second, cutting the deficit to 2.
Duke just had to hold the ball, but the Blue Devils turned the ball over, setting up the final five seconds before Mullins hit the shot that will be talked about forever.
