13 SEC players named to AP preseason All-America teams

AP released the preseason All-America teams on Tuesday, and it was a strong showing for the SEC.

13 SEC players were named preseason All-Americans, including six on the first team. Alabama and Wisconsin tied for the most players on the teams with five each.

Two of the the Crimson Tide’s five preseason All-Americans are on the first team — junior tackle Jonah Williams and senior center Ross Pierschbacher.

Ole Miss junior wide receiver A.J. Brown, LSU junior linebacker Devin White, LSU sophomore cornerback Greedy Williams and Georgia senior cornerback Deandre Baker are the other SEC players on the first team.

Here are the full preseason All-America teams (SEC players in bold):

FIRST TEAM

Offense

Quarterback: Will Grier, senior, West Virginia.

Running backs: Bryce Love, senior, Stanford; Jonathan Taylor, sophomore, Wisconsin.

Tackles: Mitch Hyatt, senior, Clemson.

Jonah Williams, junior, Alabama

Guards: Beau Benzschawel, senior, Wisconsin; Nate Herbig, junior, Stanford.

Center:

Ross Pierschbacher, senior, Alabama

Tight end: Noah Fant, junior, Iowa.

Receivers: David Sills V, senior, West Virginia.

A.J. Brown, junior, Mississippi

All-purpose player: Myles Gaskin, senior, Washington.

Kicker: Matt Gay, senior, Utah.

Defense

Ends: Nick Bosa, junior, Ohio State; Clelin Ferrell, junior, Clemson.

Tackles: Ed Oliver, junior, Houston; Christian Wilkins, Senior, Clemson.

Linebackers: Devin Bush, junior, Michigan; T.J. Edwards, senior, Wisconsin.

Greedy Williams, sophomore, LSU; Deandre Baker, senior, Georgia
