3 SEC players named among 10 semifinalists for Naismith Defensive Player of the Year

As the season winds down in the men’s college basketball world, national awards are narrowing down their lists of contenders.
On Tuesday, the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year semifinalists were announced, with 10 players being mentioned.
As you can see below, 3 SEC standouts — Auburn’s Walker Kessler, Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe and LSU’s Tari Eason — are still in the mix for the award:

Those 3 players will compete with Arizona’s Christian Koloko, Duke’s Mark Williams, Gonzaga’s Chet Holmgren, Richmond’s Jacob Gilyard, Western Kentucky’s Jamarion Sharp, Rutgers’ Caleb McConnell and Texas Tech’s Kevin McCullar for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award.
Who will win? There’s 1 week left in the regular season for most of the players mentioned above. We’ll see who stands out over the next few days.
