3 SEC teams ranked in preseason FWAA Super 16 poll

The AP preseason poll wasn’t the only list that Alabama topped on Monday.

The Crimson Tide were also ranked No. 1 in the preseason Super 16 poll released by the Football Writers Association of America.

The Super 16 poll has voted on the top 16 teams every week during the season since 2014. It features 36 poll voters, including 26 from the FWAA.

Georgia (No. 3) and Auburn (No. 9) were also ranked in the preseason Super 16 poll.

Mississippi State just missed the cut, ranking behind West Virginia and Florida State in the others receiving votes category. Florida, LSU and South Carolina also received votes.
