Eric Musselman’s Razorback program is on a roll as Arkansas has just landed its second basketball commitment in three days as international product Akol Mawein announced his pledge to play his college basketball in Fayetteville.

Arkansas’ new basketball commit is listed at 6-foot-9, 205-pounds and comes from the junior college ranks.

Mawein has an interesting backstory as the former Southwest Christian Academy star in Little Rock was born in South Sudan but grew up in Australia. Following the end of his high school career, Mawein signed with junior college program Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.

He averaged 13.5 points and five rebounds for Navarro College last season. He will have two years of eligibility at Arkansas starting next season.

Following Mawein’s commitment, the Razorbacks now hold two commitments in the 2021 recruiting cycle as the big man joins small forward Chance Moore as pledges in the latest Arkansas basketball recruiting class.
