According to FBSchedules.com, the University of Alabama has added Kent State to the 2016 schedule and will host the Golden Flashes on Sept. 24.
The website claimed that Alabama will pay Nick Saban’s alma mater $1.5 million guaranteed, and credited records obtained from Kent State as its source.
The Crimson Tide will open the 2016 season against Southern California in the Cowboys Classic in Arlington, Texas, on Sept. 3. It also has Western Kentucky lined up for a home game on Sept. 10.
That leaves just one more game for Alabama to fill. The league home schedule will feature Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Texas A&M, and it’ll visit Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee.
Alabama hosted Kent State at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the 2011 season opener, and won 48-7 en route to winning the national championship. Some of the KSU players visited Tuscaloosa during the summer and helped with tornado recovery efforts.
The Crimson Tide’s 2015 schedule was announced earlier this week.
