The 10th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide landed another 2027 commitment in the hours leading up to their showdown against No. 16 Vanderbilt (3:30 pm, ABC).
McEachern (Ga.) defensive back Nash Johnson III has chosen the Crimson Tide over Georgia, Kentucky and Vanderbilt, offering his commitment to the Alabama coaching staff during a weekend visit to Tuscaloosa. The news was first reported by Rivals.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound 3-star prospect also had offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. Johnson transferred to McEachern ahead of his junior season
Johnson is Alabama’s fourth commitment in the 2027 cycle, joining Vigor (Ala.) edge Jabarrius Garror, Central Phenix City (Ala.) interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams and IMG Academy (Fla.) wide receiver Alexander Ward. Garror, Williams and Ward are all 4-star recruits.
Johnson’s pledge moves the Crimson Tide to third behind Oklahoma and Georgia in the 247 Sports Composite SEC rankings for 2027. Defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist led Alabama’s commitment efforts of Johnson.
