Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer is not very popular these days.

DeBoer is under fire from all angles after his Crimson Tide lost to Florida State in Week 1 — his fourth loss as a double-digit favorite since taking over as Alabama’s head coach in 2024. However, DeBoer’s contract states he would need to be paid upwards of $70 million if the program fires him with cause.

That will not be problem for Alabama — if a certain fan wins the lottery.

A local TV station interviewed lottery customers this week and asked them what their plans would be if they win the Powerball jackpot, which got raised to $1.8 billion on Saturday. Susie Conerly from Guntersville had an answer ready to go.

“I’ll tell you exactly what I’d do with the first $70 million,” Conerly said. “I’d pay off Kalen DeBoer and get him the heck out of the University of Alabama. And then I’d take whatever else it took to get rid of the AD.”

Here’s a clip from the news report:

Alabama is hoping to get back in the win column on Saturday. The Crimson Tide will host Louisiana-Monroe in Week 2. Tougher tests are coming in the near future, though, as Alabama will face Wisconsin in Week 3 and Georgia in Week 5.
