Week 7 of the college football season has come and gone and as he does every Sunday morning college football analyst and former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell released his top 8 teams on Twitter.

It was no surprise to see Georgia hold down the top spot after its impressive win over previously unbeaten Kentucky, nor was it a surprise to see Iowa fall out after losing at home to Purdue, 24-7.

What was a surprise, however, was that Kanell dropped Alabama completely out of his top 8 despite the fact that the Crimson Tide demolished Mississippi State 49-9 on Saturday and were 6th on his list a week ago.

As for who did make the cut this week, Oklahoma was No. 2, Cincinnati checked in at No. 3, and Michigan State was No. 4.

Rounding out the top 8 were Oklahoma State at No. 5, Michigan at No. 6, Wake Forest at No. 7, and finally No. 8 Ohio State, which made the cut despite its home loss to Oregon earlier in the season.

Given the omission of Alabama and some of the teams who did make the list, it was no surprise to see some strong reaction to Kanell’s latest top 8.

Here’s a look at a few of the responses:
