Alabama has gone into the Lone Star State and come away with one of the best interior offensive linemen in the entire 2024 class.
On Wednesday, the Crimson Tide received a commitment from Lindale (Texas) High offensive lineman Casey Poe. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound guard is a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He revealed his college choice live on the Rivals YouTube page, picking Alabama over Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Clemson, and Texas Tech.

The 2022 Texas shot put state champion, Poe is a powerful guard with the ability to move around a bit on the line. He was a Texas District 9-4A D-I first-team selection as a sophomore and then a unanimous pick as a junior last fall.
Poe took all 5 of his official visits, going to Georgia in May and then checking out Clemson, Auburn, Alabama (June 23), and Oklahoma throughout June.
In the Composite, Poe is ranked as the No. 4 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 19 prospect from the state of Texas. He sits at No. 103 overall in the national player rankings.
His verbal pledge brings the Tide up to 13 known commitments now. It’s a class that ranks top-10 nationally. You can see Poe’s highlight tape below, via Hudl:
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
