It’s not often that college football dominates 1A, above the fold.

That’s newspaper parlance for the featured stories that show on newsstands and through the clear plastic on your front lawn.

The biggest, most impactful headlines and images of the day usually involve local politics, national headlines, major advertisers and even the weather.

Not during Iron Bowl week in Alabama.

Almost every newspaper in the state plastered the result across its 1A on Sunday, with headlines ranging from clever (“Second Time Around”) to powerful (“Tide Stand Tall”) to bizarre (“Tigers Fans Optimistic Before Tide Victory”).

Courtesy of the website newseum.org, here are several of the front pages across the state of Alabama in the Sunday morning papers.
