Alabama RB Najee Harris ‘making good progress,’ set to do drills for first time since injury

Najee Harris is out with a foot injury, and it’s still unclear when the Alabama running back will be ready to play in games.
However, Nick Saban shared some positive developments regarding Harris during the Crimson Tide coach’s press conference on Thursday.
“He’ll do drills [Friday] for the first time at his position. So he’s making good progress,” Saban told the media. “But we still have to say he’s day to day with these kinds of things and see how he responds to see if he has any kind of setback.”
Saban added that Harris has been doing “dry-land running” while he’s been out injured.
Harris is entering his sophomore season at Alabama. Last year, he rushed for 370 yards and three touchdowns while playing in all 14 games.
The Crimson Tide open the season against Louisville at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Sept. 1. There should be a better idea of whether Harris will be able to play in the opener next week.
