It’s no surprise that Alabama retained its billing as the unanimous No. 1 team in this week’s Football Writers Association of America-National Football Foundation Super 16 poll.
In fact, there were few surprises after a mostly calm Week 11 slate.
The top 10 teams in the rankings remained the exact same except for No. 8 Washington State and No. 9 Ohio State swapping spots. Two other SEC teams — No. 5 Georgia and 10th-ranked LSU — also checked in among the top 10.
No. 15 Florida was the only other SEC squad to appear in the rankings, returning to the poll after a 35-31 comeback win against South Carolina. Kentucky received 20 votes outside the poll, while Mississippi State (10), Missouri (5) and Auburn (1) were the other vote-getters from the conference.
