Just as Alabama coach Nick Saban said Monday, running back Damien Harris is making good progress through the concussion protocol.

The senior donned a black non-contact jersey and participated in a few drills off to the side during Tuesday’s practice, according to an AL.com report. Harris was not spotted at Monday’s session after suffering what Saban called a “mild concussion” in the Crimson Tide’s 50-17 win against The Citadel last Saturday.

It seemed like Harris was expected to return to practice and even play this week, but it’s good to see him making tangible progress. He’s the leading rusher in a deep stable of Alabama backs, having amassed 678 yards and seven touchdowns on 108 carries this season.

If Harris can stay on track, he’ll have a shot to play in the Iron bowl against Auburn. The No. 1 Crimson Tide (11-0, 7-0 SEC) hosts the Tigers (7-4, 3-4) at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
