One of the many reasons sports are great is that on any given day, you can see something that’s never been done before.
On Saturday against Chattanooga, Alabama graduate transfer WR Gehrig Dieter had one of those performances, recording three catches for one yard.
The caveat? Two of those catches were touchdowns.
Dieter told AL.com that he thinks he’ll be the only one to amass that particular stat line for a long time:
“Yeah, it was a pretty crazy stat line,” Dieter said. “Three catches, one yard, two touchdowns. I don’t think that will ever be repeated by another receiver. My name will be etched in stone.”
Dieter may not have produced many yards for the Tide on Saturday, but he at least proved he can be a valuable red-zone target for QB Jalen Hurts.
