TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama coach Nick Saban announced that freshman left tackle Cam Robinson sustained a sprained shoulder on Saturday night and is considered day-to-day.
“We hope to have him back in a couple of days,” Saban said.
Saban made the announcement during a teleconference the coaches in the SEC Championship Game had with reporters on Sunday evening.
Robinson left the 55-44 victory against Auburn during the second half and spent the rest of the game on the Alabama bench. He had also been dealing with an ankle issue, initially sustained at Tennessee and required surgery.
Alabama had numerous players coming off injuries including junior running back T.J Yeldon (ankle). He had a 100-yard performance against the Tigers.
“T.J. did a great job in the game,” Saban said. “It looked like he had some explosion back.”
Saban said that senior quarterback Blake Sims was fine after rolling his ankle during the first half against Auburn.
Sophomore linebacker Ryan Anderson sustained what appeared to be a shoulder injury during the second quarter and went to the locker room, but did return in the second half.
Sophomore kick Adam Griffith (back spasms) was in for the opening kickoff and then was sidelined until Gunnar Raborn had an extra-point blocked. Freshman punter JK Scott handled kickoffs.
“We want Griff to kick,” Saban said. “We’re trying to manage him through his health issues.”
Alabama will face Missouri at the Georgia Dome on Saturday (4 p.m. ET, CBS).
