NOLA.com is reporting that sophomore Anthony Jennings will start at quarterback against Wisconsin over freshman Brandon Harris.

The ongoing battle wasn’t decided through spring practice, and neither really emerged in fall camp to steal the spotlight, although Jennings looks like he did enough to start game one.

Last week, Les Miles played coy and indicated that it doesn’t matter which signal caller starts the game, and he added that both quarterbacks would probably play.

Starting Jennings makes the most sense, because the Tigers are away from home against a top 25 opponent, and starting the freshman Harris on such a big stage could rattle the nerves. So, Miles will let Harris come off the bench, hoping to get some big plays and quality minutes out of his future star.

Jennings played in nine games last season, starting and winning the Outback Bowl against Iowa 21-14. He finished with 181 yards, one touchdown and one INT during his freshman campaign.
