During the narrow season-opening victory over Louisiana Tech, Arkansas got bit by the ever-present injury bug in a significant way.

It was announced Monday by head coach Bret Bielema that starting nickel back and reserve corner Kevin Richardson II will miss the remainder of the season with what was deemed a ‘severe’ pectoral muscle tear. He will undergo surgery, and is expected to endure a four-month rehabilitation period.

Richardson II — a junior out of Jacksonville, Ark. — led the team with seven tackles this past Saturday. Without Richardson II in the fold, the Razorbacks will gladly welcome the return of previously-injured defensive backs D.J. Dean.
