Arkansas received some bad news Saturday night from talented tight end Luke Ford (Carterville, IL).

The 4-star tight end was the highest rated commit in Arkansas’ recruiting class, but he released a statement from his Twitter account saying he wants to experience other schools before finalizing his decision. He had been committed to the Hogs since March 14.

“After much thought, I have decided that I have not done my due diligence in visiting/experiencing other schools,” Fort wrote on Twitter. “Many recruits have seen more than 10 schools, I have only visited 2.

“I am not saying I will not eventually be a Hog, but I need to ensure that I have made the best informed decision possible. So I am decommitting from Arkansas. Will plan to visit other schools.”

Following Ford’s decommitment, Arkansas has just six commits for the class of 2018.

Ford is ranked as the nation’s No. 4 tight end and the state of Illinois No. 1 overall player, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He currently holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and LSU, among others.
