Auburn 2B Ryan Bliss on error that led to 2 Louisville runs: ‘That’s going to haunt me’

Baseball is a funny game. Sometimes, you make a play that is so incredible you couldn’t do it again if you had 1,000 chances. Then, other times, a play you make look easy 999 times out of 1,000 goes horribly wrong at the worst possible moment.
That was the case for Auburn 2B Ryan Bliss on Tuesday in an elimination game against Louisville at the College World Series in Omaha.
Before a rain delay forced the game to be postponed to Wednesday, Bliss misplayed a routine ground ball, allowing two Louisville runs to score. After finishing the game on Wednesday, which the Tigers lost 5-3, Bliss said that error will haunt him for a long time:

Of course, it wasn’t all Bliss’s fault, so hopefully his teammates help him keep his head up. He had a solid season and has a lot to build on moving into his sophomore season in 2020.
The Tigers wouldn’t have made it to Omaha without him. There will be many more chances for him moving forward in his Auburn career.
