On Thursday, news broke that Auburn linebacker KJ Britt was going to have surgery to repair torn ligaments in his thumb. Britt played through the injury in Week 2 against Georgia, but a later exam revealed surgery was needed.

Britt shared Saturday that he’s doing well after having the surgery.

“Thankful for all the calls and text messages over these hard times, l appreciate everyone! I am doing fine and looking forward to a speedy recovery! War Eagle” Britt wrote in a tweet.

Phillip Marshall of 247Sports reported that “recovery time is normally at least six weeks” following the procedure, indicating Britt may be sidelined for most of Auburn’s remaining games in the 2020 season.

The Tigers will certainly miss Britt on defense. The senior recorded a team-leading 23 total tackles through the first two games against Kentucky and UGA.
