Jeff Holland is delivering on his first season as the starter at the Buck position at Auburn.
The pass rusher not only leads the SEC in sacks, he’s also the leader by a wide margin with 34 quarterback pressures, according to the College Football Film Room. That’s 12 more than the next closest player in the league. Holland is also the reigning Co-Defensive Player of the Week in the SEC after he had with three tackles, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in the win over Arkansas.
Holland was the first Auburn player to force two fumbles in the same game since Corey Lemonier against Georgia in 2011, and the first to force and a recover a fumble in a game since Cassanova McKinzy in 2012.
Holland was in the middle of a smothering Auburn defense that had a season-high-tying six sacks for the game. Holland’s eight total sacks are tied for the fourth-most in the FBS this season.
