The Arkansas Razorbacks have a three-score lead over the pesky Northern Illinois Huskies and it hasn’t been Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams driving the scoring, but rather two huge plays on special teams and defense.

Running back Korliss Marshal got the Hogs off to a quick start with an opening 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. This has to be especially encouraging for Arkansas fans since Marshall hasn’t seen much playing time recently due to ball security issues, so for the explosive sophomore to make an early impact is a positive sign for the speedster.

And then it was the defense that stepped up next for the Razorbacks, thanks to their dominating defensive line. Nose tackle Darius Philon did it all, forcing the fumble with a great rush and then finished the play off with a nice scoop for a 14-yard return touchdown.

Everyone knows about the big plays on offense, but the explosive plays on both special teams and defense would be a huge asset for the Razorbacks moving forward into the meat of their SEC scheudle.
