Billy Napier was aglow with pride during his Monday media session after Florida’s 29-16 upset victory vs. Tennessee at The Swamp.
Florida has now won back-to-back games since dropping the opener at Utah. This extends Florida’s home winning streak against Tennessee to 10.
Napier expressed that Florida entered the SEC opener with a chip on its shoulder after the listless loss against Utah, even after an easy win vs. McNeese.
Billy Napier says Florida had an edge entering the Tennessee game after being “frustrated” and “embarrassed” to begin the season. It was evident in game prep, he added.
Now it’s about sustaining momentum, something Napier admits last year’s team struggled with.

Napier is grateful for the crowd’s impact on his signature victory that lifted Florida into the AP poll at No. 25.
Napier on crowd enthusiasm “When you get texts from people that that’s the best you’ve heard it in 15 years, you know you are doing something right.” #Gators
