Billy Napier and Florida are 3-2 on the season after losing 33-14 at Kentucky in Week 5. The Gators produced just 69 rushing yards in the loss. Kentucky racked up 3 sacks and 9 tackles for loss against Florida.

During a recent press conference, Napier addressed the lack of continuity along the offensive line due to injuries and how that’s made a difference.

“I do think continuity is important with that unit. If you could have the same 5 in the same roles, and there can be chemistry. There’s a lot of communication,” Napier said. “There’s a ton of work relative to the combination blocks. Things happen fast in there, right.”

Napier is optimistic that the offensive line will get some bodies back to aid in the pass protection and open up holes in the running game.

“One thing that we’ve lacked so far this year is continuity up front, right. And we do have some tough guys that have been banged up, maybe been limited throughout the week, but have played and showed some toughness and some grit,” Napier said. But we’re hopeful that at some point here we can settle in and these guys can get healthy and we can get some continuity up front. I do think that can benefit our team.”

Florida will look to avoid a losing streak when they host Vanderbilt on Saturday (4 p.m. EST/SEC Network).
