Boo Carter is giving his teammates unnecessary headaches long before the 2025 season has even started. According to a report by Knox News on Wednesday, Tennessee’s team leaders are fed up with Carter.

The report stated that those team leaders have already confronted the star defensive back/punt returner after his absence from numerous team activities. With Carter possibly contributing at wide receiver this fall, his value might not ever be higher to Josh Heupel’s team, but he’s making it hard on his teammates and himself right now.

According to the Knox News report, Carter’s status with the Volunteers is currently “uncertain.” That’s creating a whole lot of stress for his furious teammates and exhausted Tennessee fans who already went through the Nico Iamaleava saga in the spring.

Here is the full report on Carter:

Now, with fall camp fast approaching and the 2025 season right behind it, Vols fans have a new potential crisis to sink their teeth into. The program has declined to comment on the matter so far, but Heupel is expected to address Carter’s status at Tennessee Media Day on July 29, assuming the chaos hasn’t been resolved by then.

Tennessee begins preseason camp the following day, and Carter won’t be available for comment until then.

For now, the situation is all over the place, and just when Vols fans thought they could enjoy the leadup to fall camp, well, they can think again.
