Brandon Miller played through injury during SEC Tournament, Nate Oats says
Brandon Miller played through a groin injury during the SEC Tournament, head coach Nate Oats told reporters on Monday evening.
Oats indicated Miller wasn’t close to 100% even as he cruised to SEC Tournament MVP honors. Miller scored 23 points and added in 12 rebounds and 4 assists in the championship game vs. Texas A&M.
“He showed how tough he is to be able to play through some injuries,” Oats said.
Oats said SEC Tournament MVP Brandon Miller was "playing with a hurt groin" while in Nashville.

It’s unclear when Miller sustained the injury. However, he played well throughout the SEC Tournament as he led the Tide to their 2nd conference title in the last 3 seasons.
Miller averaged 20.3 points, 11 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game during the SEC Tournament.
As a result of Alabama’s win, it received the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. It’s the 1st time in program history that Alabama has earned a No. 1 seed.
Miller’s injury is not expected to impact his availability for Alabama’s 1st round game.
The Tide will face either Southeast Missouri State or Texas A&M Community College in the 1st round on Thursday.
