If you want to pay tribute to Bob Caslen’s “California Gamecocks,” you’ll need to find merchandise that doesn’t use the official logo.

Clothing company SHEIN has pulled a hoodie that featured the Gamecocks logo accompanying “California” in block lettering. A screenshot from when the hoodie was for sale posted to Twitter by Aurora Greenway went viral.

South Carolina was not amused by the hoodie, which references former school president Caslen’s commencement speech gaffe. According to The State, South Carolina sent a cease and desist to SHEIN for using the school trademark. The link to the hoodie now brings up an error page.

In May, Caslen addressed South Carolina graduates as “the newest alumni of the University of California.” Caslen resigned after admitting to plagiarizing a portion of his speech.
