Cole Cubelic and Roman Harper were effusive in their praise for LSU’s offense during the most recent edition of Read And React on the SEC Network.

No. 19 LSU is coming off a 48-18 rout against Auburn. In the prior 2 games, LSU erupted for 49 points in a 10-point victory vs. Missouri and 6-point loss to Ole Miss.

The ESPN analysts are flabbergasted at the Tigers’ offense anchored by quarterback Jayden Daniels.

“You want to talk about firepower? This is what LSU is right now, especially on the offensive end,” Harper said. “Who is slowing down this offense right now?”

Cubelic is wary to compare this edition of LSU’s offense to its national title version in 2019. However, he says they share 1 distinction.

“It is a unique offense that can be multiple and can be great at a lot of different things. Now I’m seeing some comparisons to the 2019 offense. I think we should stop that,” Cubelic said. “The 1 comparison that I would say that I have for these 2 groups is this group in a similar manner just continues to throw haymakers at you. They keep throwing very heavy punches over and over and over. It doesn’t seem like there’s a lot you can do about it.”

Harper explains that the biggest punctuation on LSU’s explosiveness is the dual-threat ability of Daniels. Daniels has passed for 2,294 yards and 22 touchdowns, while also rushing for 515 yards and 4 scores.

“The real icing on the cake is Jayden Daniels’ legs. When you cover it, he just runs it anyways,” Harper said. “He doesn’t run for like 5 yards. This is like 25 yards. These are explosive plays that really just crush your whole team and your morale.”

Harper warns that unless an opponent brings its A-game offensively, the odds of defeating LSU appears slim.

“The way to win is you better be able to score 40 yourself or you’re not going to be able to beat LSU this year,” Harper said.

Next up for LSU is a home contest vs. Army on Saturday (7:30 p.m. EST/SEC Network).
