The Nebraska Cornhuskers got off to a bad start in the 2021 season, losing on Saturday to Illinois 30-22.
The Cornhuskers made several bad mistakes, which is something embattled coach Scott Frost talked about eliminating this offseason.
Now, Frost’s seat is getting awfully warm, and things might get ugly in Lincoln this fall. What’s the problem with the Huskers? According to FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd, the 1995 mentality from Frost and Nebraska isn’t helping:
Maybe it’s not always the football coaches fault at Nebraska. Things change. What works in 1995 doesn’t always crush in 2021. In any business.

Frost, of course, was a member of 2 title-winning teams at Nebraska (in 1995 and 1997). Cowherd seems to be implying that Frost hasn’t updated his thinking to adjust to today’s college game.
With games at home against Fordham and Buffalo the next 2 weeks, we’ll see if Frost’s Huskers can turn things around before a trip to take on No. 2 Oklahoma.
