College football fans react to Florida-Florida State moving to Friday night in 2022

College football fans and media members are used to the Saturday after Thanksgiving being “Rivalry Weekend.”

But, with TV slots needing to be filled, more games are being moved up to Friday. For example, the Mizzou-Arkansas rivalry has taken over Black Friday in recent years out of the SEC.

On Monday, the ACC announced its schedule for 2022, and fans weren’t happy to see the Florida-Florida State game in Tallahassee moved up to Friday for this coming season.

Florida State’s AD issued a statement on the decision on Monday night:

Yes, this is strange, but it looks like it won’t become a regular thing. The Gators have the game in Gainesville listed for Saturday, Nov. 25, in 2023.
