The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes 39-22 Saturday in Sanford Stadium. It wasn’t pretty much of the afternoon for Georgia. Kent State entered a 45-point underdog.

The game was even closer than the final score indicated, too.

Georgia and its fans will likely be frustrated and concerned about the performance. Noon games are always tough, though, and Georgia made it tough on themselves Saturday. Entering Week 4, Georgia had given up just 10 points through 3 games. It gave up 22 points Saturday vs. Kent State.

Kent State successfully completed a fake punt (like South Carolina did last week), and Georgia’s offense coughed the ball up 3 times. Ladd McConkey muffed a punt and fumbled after a catch and run, and Stetson Bennett threw a bad interception. All of the turnovers happened in the first half, as Georgia turned it around in the second to seize control.

Still, this game will concern some, and college football fans weighed in on social media following Georgia’s victory.
